To mark the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, National Sports Day was celebrated at Prudence school, Dwarka 16B on 29th August 2019. A special assembly was conducted whereby students were made aware of the significance of this day and gave a befitting tribute to the icon highlighting and applauding him. The school believes that sport is a significant component of school life and that students who participate in sports receive many social, emotional and psychological incentives. In other words, academic learning and sports education are thought-about to be the two sides of the coin that assist construct the student's overall character.
Students also viewed the program Fit India Movement launched by our hon’ble Prime Minister
Students competed in a variety of activities, such as parachute games, balancing beams, jumping hurdles, three legs running, tug of war and many more, along with a display of several sports related equipment. All the activities took place in an extremely enthralling atmosphere, enhancing the sporty-spirit among the students.
We believe the need of the hour is for the children to strike a balance between quality education and physical activities, and in all aspects India can surely be a prosperous nation.
Besides commemorating the great hockey wizard Dhyan Chand, the day was marked as the opportunity to encourage children to take on a variety of sporting activities as a career and to create a name for themselves as well as their nation.
